<< Let's look at why perhaps the account did not want to pay for the crate. Every day I see authorization requests for things that used to be part of the move farmed out to 3rd party companies like disassembly and reassembly of beds, desks(not pressboard), pianos(not tuning), attaching mirrors to dressers, etc. And crating has gotten totally out of control! Since when do you have to crate a dining room hutch top?? Metal tanning beds, metal filing cabinets, large screen TV's(a slated crate ain't gonna protect the screen from punctures), pictures that USED to go into mirror cartons, and I could go on and on. We won't even go into the number of invalid 3rd party companies there are just to circumvent tariff rates. The consumer has become skeptical and you ask why no one wants to pay for the crate that IS needed? >>

Ok, Michele, this above is your exact statement. I will ask objectively once again, what does all of the above have to do with crating marble. Marble is a must. Everything you said above is true, but should have no bearing in an account's decision to authorize. Nor should it bear in mind whether to "crate marble or not." This is my simple point. It was not to attack you. I also was not questioning lengthy posts, I simply questioned YOUR lengthy post on this specific matter. I didn't appreciate being attacked unfairly for this.

Ok now that's out of the way, this is my unfair attack on you, Michele

Yes, I may have written "lengthy posts," and I must now obviously owe you an apology for wasting your time with my rambling operational ignorant dribble. In fact, I rarely contribute to the forum now because of the elite few's superior attitude that seem to prevail over the rest of us morons. As aggressive, ignorant and over bearing Michele, that you may find me, I find you to be the same way, especially toward someone else's viewpoint such as mine. Look, I'm a simple mover with a simple understanding of the business. I don't dispatch trucks to Manhattan, I do endorse current fuel surcharges, and finally marble in my world is always crated and paid for. Regardless of what the account says, I'll be damned if a wing ding suit and tie sitting in a HR office on the phone tells me what I can and I can't do to get the job done. All it takes is honest communication to convince one of must do operational procedure. Michele, when you have this 'How can you blame them to deny' attitude, I'll betcha that your typical crafty HR wonk is quick to pick up this attitude from you as easy as I do. It's all about attitude. To make excuse why legit as well as IL-legit services are denied instead of using positive power, influence and position to really make change giving back the provider incentive to want to not cheat in making a living is irresponsible. I speak (probably the last time before my inevitable ouster) to everyone on this forum, change your attitude or lose even more people. Nowadays, sales people, account handlers, auditors, GM's, etc., are easier replaced than the good work providers we all collectively manage. Much like sticking fingers into a fan blade, they seem to stand right up, stick it right in there, and choose to chop off the strength and might of their very own companies: the drivers. Bringing up "refrigerator packing," "what will be next" and all the reasons why accounts deny services to the mention of a legitimate one is exactly this twisted dysfunctional attitude I am talking about. Whether the viewpoint expressed in your post is personally endorsed or not, just choosing to bring this up in context to a single simple legitimate service demand shows to me your prejudice understanding of the situation as well. I would understand a lot better if you explained to us, how you, Michele persuade the accounts to the need for a legitimate service instead of rationalizing to us their skewed views. There are more drivers out of this business than in it right now. Tell me, Michele, with your unique viewpoints on NY City driving, unnecessary fuel surcharges and over run service costs, what else do you specifically do to retain your entrusted drivers that are listed on the B/L's on top of your desk? I can proudly tell you of my tiring daily efforts. Don't even start with retaining accounts, because even I know the best way to retain accounts is by having a fleet of good happy drivers there to perform their special sensitive workload of employee relocations. Maybe someday I'll graduate up to your level Michele, and then I'll be worthy in your eyes of a normal back and forth conversation. Until then I guess I have no choice but to listen to your hateful condescending babble and resort to fight back in exactly the same way I was attacked earlier today.

I still stand by the original intent of what I was asking you earlier. Persuading an account to do the right thing by authorizing a painfully obvious service such as crating marble should never be an issue for the work provider to have to tackle let alone be the move loser. The attitude shared to us in Alan's post; "someone else will step in a do the move marble uncrated" is an all too easy one that shows lack of guts and character to handle the account properly in the first place for the desired result.

And I'm sorry for this lengthy post everyone, I never meant now, or in past to mess anyone up with lengthy posts. I guess if you read this far into it, you all probably really hate me and my opinions. I promise not to share it again, unless of course provoked. Maybe for now on, Michele will be a little bit nicer to all of us, and we can move on to nicer subject matter like why is Alan exactly out of the business?
